Introducing the Twins on Tour and the Ace Cook

In the coming weeks Age of Zinc will reproduce, in Adobe Spark format, the travel diary of four men who are indirectly linked to this blog. It is the story of their travel overland, from Cape Town to Kampala, along with a few side trips to India, Malaysia and Brazil. The Adobe Spark documents evolved much like the journey itself. At no stage did the travellers see beyond the next destination, but that took them to some of the most extraordinary places that Southern and East Africa can offer. With a specific focus on the urbanisation of poverty and the escalating clash between wild nature and human habitat they spent extended periods of time in slums and in wilderness areas, two seamingly disparate realities that, in effect represent polar extremes, intricately connected by a planet in crisis.
